My D has been accepted to RIT. However, she did not get into her first choice- CS; instead she was placed in University Studiesa - her second choice. I have read about on RIT’s page; but I would like more information. Can anyone help?
Help anyone?
Hi @dawn2mon My D is an RIT freshman. She is considering changing her major, and someone suggested she try the University Studies program. I think it’s a pretty good choice for a freshman, to explore all the university has to offer. I really don’t know anymore about it than what RIT has on their websites. I assume this is the page you already read.

Did they offer your daughter any contact info for the University Studies program? Do you live close enough to attend one of the accepted student days?
I would also call the CS department and ask what their requirements are for switching into into the CS department and how easy it would be for you to take the necessary classes.
My D is completing her second year. Several of her friends have changed majors with little difficulty. I think most were after the first semester.
