Does anyone know if this is how RIT usually does their decisions? We haven’t heard anything yet so I’m wondering if that means my son will be rejected.

D got email to check portal again today and received a Presidential Scholarship for $18.5K per year. Very pleased and moves RIT up the list into serious consideration - but still waiting on decisions from 4 more colleges as well as full financial breakdown for a few more. Its a long journey!
Daughter received presidential $19,000.
Received an email on presidential scholarship as well as status update on the portal. $22.5k/year. Congrats to others who received it as well. Cheers.
Interesting. RIT Tuition for students entering fall 2020 is $50, 564 whereas for those entering fall 2019 was $45,244. Do they think somehow everyone entering Fall 2020 has won a lottery. That is an increase of ~12%.

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected:
I got the RIT Computing medal junior year and I think being on the mailing list definitely helped! I did ecs on things I cared about and basically whatever I wanted. Didn’t do things solely to “look good”
General Comments:
Don’t underestimate the importance of doing what you love even if it’s just playing videogames or posting memes on social media because you could always “justify” it in your essays to get a unique perspective!!
The cost for 2018 & 2019 is identical on RIT website. It seems that the cost for 2019 is wrong.
I wrote down room and board and tuition as about 60k. Is this ballpark?
Tuition $50,564, Fees $676, Double Room $8,140, 10-Meal plan $5,836, plus books, etc. So about $65k
@OldManPhD Thank you!!
RIT increased tuition by 12% for the class entering fall 2020. One of the attractive things about RIT was their tuition which was 5-10k less than other privates. With this jump they’re now that much different.
