For anyone who has a EFC of 0 and we’re wondering how is RIT aid for EFC 0 students I recieved a RIT Grant of 31,000, I recieved the Founders Scholarship of 11,500, a SEOG Grant of 500, Pell Grant 6345, work study 2800 and loans 5500 but if your parent plus are denied you can get a additional 5000 in Federal loans.

Hey Chucky good for you! Your EFC of 0 is a huge help. Were you adopted as a teenager or currently in foster care? It would appear that you’re from outside of NY, or you would have mentioned a full NYS TAP grant with an EFC of 0.

Hello! I received a email of a portal status update and was recieved the FA via my portal. They also give your brochure with more information about the financial aid as well. I recieved FA 2 weeks after acceptance.
Hello! No I wasn’t adopted or in foster care. However, my father is deceased so my income turn to 0. I am out of state, it’s was surprising how RIT gave so much aid even if I am out of state. Got accepted to some SUNY schools no aid at all due to them being public schools.
RIT doesn’t care if out of state or in state. I figured you weren’t “in state” or with an EFC of 0, you would have received a full NYS TAP grant. I asked about foster care/adoption, because the FAFSA will declare you “independent” with an EFC of 0 (for a kid with no earnings) if they are a ward of a court or in foster care at some point past the age of 13 (even if adopted). Congrats to you and I wish you well in your education. Use it wisely!

My S is still waiting on CS in NJ. I really don’t understand how they release this. His friend at a different school nearby heard about CS on 2/14.
Same here. My son is not considering RIT, however, he has heard nothing since receiving numerous requests to change his application to ED. His application is also for CS

DD got waitlisted for computer science but got in for game design and development and got presidential scholarship. Results came in around 3:30pm est. instate. 3.5 gpa 31 ACT lots of honors and a few AP’s. School doesn’t offer too many. She wants to wait for Computer Science right now
