RL polos

^ good point.

and just because someone else spams the boards doesnt make it ok for you to. No, this isnt as bad as spam, but its useless to the rest of us. Post it at the college cafe or whatever its called.

I normally buy mine from either Macy’s or the outlet.

A lot of people claim to get $30 RL polos at places like Marshall’s or TJ Maxx, but I would question their authenticity. Same goes for the ones on eBay.

I can usually spot a fake A&F shirt on eBay–any questions about an A&F shirt on eBay just send it my way.

the ones at marshalls and TJ Maxx aren’t fake, but they have small defects and those two just buy those slightly defected shirts, hence allowing them to sell polos that otherwise look quite normal and are authentic, but just are more flawed then the ones at a polo store or at macy’s. the flaws are like the buttons being sewed a bit differently, etc

The ones you can get at TJ Maxx are marshalls are Polo Sport (cheaper brand name) or of a different style (not the pique meshed cotton but instead a smooth heavywight cotton, they’re not as nice).

They’re not much more than that at the outlet. The only time I will buy one on eBay is if it’s a rare style like the limited Big Pony shirts.

I’ve spotted some Polo fakes at Marshall’s.

Big Pony on eBay are all fake, essentially.

Well the two I bought were real, and at real price tags. I didn’t go to ebay to save money, I went to get a product I couldn’t get in the store anymore.

If you’re paying www.polo.com price on eBay, they could be real - but why not just go to polo.com?

I don’t care about this thread, but I’m going to be superficial as the OP and say the guy in the pic is one of my fav models, Nick Bryant!

why is is superficial to want to know you’re getting your money’s worth? With clothing, if it’s bootleg, it may be more likely to shrink, tear, unravel, be cut totally wrong (i.e. the body is a size small, but the sleeves are from an XL, or vice versa, and I have seen this).

Agreed - it’s superficial to buy a shoddy fake RL polo on eBay just to have the pony.

To get your money’s worth is fine in terms of sizing, tearing, shrinking, whatever (and it’s not just bootleg, too; authentic clothes don’t fit magically because of the tag, nor is it never going to tear merely because it’s $2,500).

It’s an RL shirt. Get over it, most people have them; they’re not that expensive.

But I don’t think the placement of a damned pony is worth arguing about getting your “money’s worth.” People’s bodies are shaped differently; the placement of the pony when being worn is not going to be pointed out as fake unless it’s really off.

If anything, check the quality. If you know quality, then you’ll know what you’re looking for.

It seems to me the OP is just trying to show off that he has RL shirts, like it’s anything to show off.

How nouveau riche.

Where in this thread did I state that I own any? I do own them, but did I even hint at wanting to show off?? Moreso, on an anonymous college forum?? I just noticed at several places that the ponies were placed differently, and one of them happened to be eBay. I highly doubt anyone could pick up even a hint of wanting to show off that I have RL shirts by my responses.

“If you’re paying www.polo.com price on eBay, they could be real - but why not just go to polo.com?”

I wanted a second shirt in a different color for a style they don’t have this year. I have the blue and white big pony from last year and I wanted the white and silver and black and gold ones, but you can’t get them on the site anymore. So I paid full price for them, but had to find them elsewhere.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=208173</a></p>

Does that do it for you, Indian? It’s hinting all over the place.

Not that this has to do with anything, but I also noticed you started about 30 threads in the “What are my chances?” forums all headlining stating your failure.

XXDDD

exactly

Many of the people who read that thread didn’t read my post where I stated the “would” in my paragraph should’ve read “could”. The only thing I should’ve been flamed for was thinking my clothes were expensive. The city I come from is mostly full of wealthy people, and nearly every kid at my school shopped hollister/abercrombie/ae. I had only seen a handful of people wearing RL, and I thought wow, $65 for a shirt is a damn lot. (Atleast since I earn my own money it is). I never knew that in college, where people pay thousands of dollars every semester, with little time for jobs, that $65 for a polo shirt was pocket cash, and that people always buy 3-4 digit clothes. I am SORRY for that mistake.

And one more thing, I referred to the posts I made IN THIS THREAD. Don’t know if you caught that or not, Effulgent.

I was very worried. I’m the first kid to go to college in my family so I was completely new to the process. Luckily things worked out for me. I’m so sorry for being anxious about my future. Will you accept my apology?

Also, more people look into a topic if the title is interesting. Considering the forum section title, “What are my chances?”, “Chances please” just won’t net any informative responses.

Forgive me for my stupid, naive mistakes, Effulgent. I am truly sorry for offending your godliness.

Obviously you don’t, so why bother posting?

Nobody forced you to read this thread. If YOU don’t want to discuss it, then don’t bother.

Indian: Don’t let those *heads give you *. They’re ■■■■■■■■ for you to make responses because they like pushing your buttons. Don’t let them, just ignore.

^ Yea I know. Unfortunately we can’t do anything to make these idiots realize that their insults are meaningless since this entire board consists of anonymous readers. I could easily make a new username and avoid this, but I don’t take any of this stuff seriously enough to do that. Why can’t everybody just be nice…
