Robertson Scholars Potential Applicant Letter?

Did any of you get letters saying that your HS identified you as a “potential canidate”? Is this something they give everyone or does this mean something. Reason is b/c I really want to go to Duke and may apply early and I was wondering if this meant anything or was like a sign…lol…

bump bump bump

It’s certainly not a bad sign, but my understanding that this letter does not come from Duke Admissions. Rather, it comes from your high school and/or the Robertson Scholars Program itself.

For others reading this thread: The Robertson Scholars Program is a full-ride merit scholarship and leadership development program at Duke and UNC-Chapel Hill that covers all college costs (tuition, fees, room and board, laptop, etc.). It also provides full funding for three summers of global travel, research, and internships, and gives recipients a unique “dual citizenship” where they are full students at both Duke and UNC-Chapel Hill.

Criteria for selection include superior academic achievement, intellectual curiosity, strength of character, courage, and collaborative spirit.

All 39,000 or so applications to Duke and UNC-Chapel Hill each year are in theory automatically considered for the program, but if you are interested in it you should visit the website and fill out the Supplemental Materials Form in order to ensure direct review of your file by the program itself.
