Robertson Scholarship Statistics

Anyone know the general acceptance rate for the Robertson Scholars Program at Duke/UNC? I applied already (before Nov 15th) but I’m just curious :)

i’d love to know that too. also when the decisions come out.

I’m not certain your question states what you intend. ALL Robertson Scholars matriculate jointly at Duke and UNC-CH, therefore all are admitted. That accurately answer what you asked. However, did you by chance mean what percentage of Robertson Scholar APPLICANTS are accepted?

…? I thought i said what the acceptance rate for the program was which implies what you said. W/e grammar aside (I never liked english), yes I did mean what percentage of Robertson Scholar applicants are accepted?

Ha, I thought you were clear as well @thenarwhalking‌. I too would like to know this information if anyone has. And @TopTier I thought Robertson Scholars are officially matriculated into only one school but spend a semester at the other. A Duke Robertson Scholar cannot technically claim a bachelors degree from UNC and likewise, no?

@Jwes22: Did I accurately understand that they eventually receive Bachelor’s from both universities?

@thenarwhalking‌: Seriously but helpfully, it might be wise to learn to ‘like’ English and grammar – or at least to use both near-flawlessly – because you will be judged by these skills forever. Smart people who don’t speak and write well and/or who make grammatical errors, frequently do not appear to be bright to others (professors, supervisors, and many others); the contrary is also true. I’m not suggesting that’s always fair, but it is generally accurate.

@TopTier- Robertsons only matriculate at and graduate from one university, though they are considered students at both.

@purpleacorn‌: Thank you. That’s good information and I appreciate it.

I’m curious about this as well! I’d imagine it is extremely competitive. Fingers crossed!

Everyone who applies to Duke is considered for AB Duke and Robertson scholarships. You don’t have to fill Robertson app initially to be considered but it helps. Out of 1700, about 10-15 will get Robertson and about the same will get AB.

That should give some idea about the competition.

My son filled out the Robertson scholarship, nowhere did we see you are “automatically” considered for it. It was a pretty lengthy app. I find it hard to believe you would have much of a chance if you didn’t do the application.

@LPROCK‌ (re #10): That’s really not true; only those who are ACCEPTED are considered (although I suspect you intended to indicate this).
