Can the robot vacuum/mops safely be used on real hardwood floors?
I don’t have a robotic mop, but my Tineco cordless mop does a fabulous job.
The robot vacuums work fine on wood floors and tile as far as I can tell! I’m not talking about the mops!
I’ve used a EUFY (robot vacuum) in two different homes on decades old white oak and other house maple and oak floors without issues. To me that is where the robo vacuum shines.
What concerns did you have??
Just water damage, as a general concern.
I cannot trust husbands and adult children to not leave damp towels on wood doors, cedar chests, floors, not sure if I am willing to trust a robot with water on wood.
I use my robotic vacuum cleaners on our hardwood floors and have since irobot 1st came out. We do not use the versions with water and apply any needed water ourselves manually and be sure to completely dry. We have never had an issue.
Our S also uses a robotic vacuum cleaner on the hardwood floors of condos he’s lived in with no problems.
We all only have used irobot.
My younger sis got a competing brand that mops her hardwood floors and has not had any complaints so far.
Personally I’m nervous about water and hardwood floors do prefer vacuums that have no water.
My comment was only about a vacuum NOT a mop - never used one of those - the vacuum, no water, has been fine on our wood floors.
Have a roomba i7 that has been running on my 100+ year old floors for years with no problems. Not the mopping kind.
Yah, the vacuum is not a concern, it’s the whole mop thing!
Lol I was also hoping someone here has tried a robot mop on hardwood floors, obviously the regular is fine (I have an upstairs and downstairs roomba).
I rarely need a wet mop on my floors except in our kitchen (which is NOT hardwood) and bathroom which is similarly sheet vinyl, so don’t see why I’d want a mopping robot for our home.
Again no experience with a robot mop.
But to wash any hardwood floor you have to use some sort of liquid cleaner. And how big is the water reservoir on the mops? It would seem the intent would be to use smaller amounts and to mop more often?? Like the vacuum - it has a timer so it can safely be used daily.
I would read LOTS of reviews online and see if anyone voices any of the concerns you might have.
One problem OP is concerned with, as I see it, is the possibility that the robot can get stuck or break down and spill its cleaning solution on the hardwood in one spot, causing damage (if there is no one nearby to fix the issue).
