Robotic lawnmower...WOW !!

So I am married to a self confessed gadget junky. He has been wanting a Husqvarna robotic lawnmower for quite some time, and bought one about a month ago ( kind of leaving the landscaper with one less client )
We live on a 2.5 acre property and once a week cutting is just not enough. Our lawn is a compliation of grasses…nothing particularly special when compared to a couple of our neighbors who obviously spend a lot of time , money and chemicals to maintain their lawns.
I have to say that I am in love with this mower !
we have about 1/3 of our property designated for the dogs and the grass is no longer a haven for ticks…
The grass is cut several times a week and there is no clippings , no residue and no misses spots .

I was hesitant to spend the money on this ,but it has made our busy summer life so much easier. Could this be the wave of the future of lawn maintenance ?

Love it! Excellent! My gadget junkie Mr. would have loved that. But… we don’t have any lawn anymore.

I want a drone that can dump roundup on the weeds in the distant corner of our property.

Watched the video of it in action! Wow. Thank god Mr. did not know about it before we decides to trafe the lawn (with the house) for a more urban environment. So cool. Love the guide wire. House roombas need light because they use the ceiling as the guide to do the cleaning. It will be a while until this marvel of engineering puts lawn services out of business. But what a great yard too, oh my.

We saw one mowing at our Parador in the Picos de Europa a few weeks ago! Never knew they existed before that. Fun to watch!

^^^ We saw numerous of these on our April/May visit to northern Germany. Lots of usage at various outdoor living history museums, formal gardens and hotel grounds that we witnessed. I am surprised they haven’t been adopted here. Thanks for the post, @ije28. I also think it might be the wave of the future!

The Husqvarna website first said we’d need two. I decreased my estimated of the yard size and it then said their largest would run 22 hrs./day. I’d be tempted, except I’d still need to hire someone to edge the lawn and trim shrubs. I’m also not sure, even after viewing the video, that it could handle the various sloped areas of our yard. Maybe at our next house.

@Silpat , we started it when the lawn was last serviced bu the landscaper. It no longer needs to be edged because it hasn’t grown enough ( it cuts such a tiny amount each time ) My husband’s brother and a few of his friends in Sweden use them and their properties are more sloped and rocky than ours is. Part of our yard is designated for our dogs…the grass has never been anything to look at before but now it looks really nice

How does it work around/avoid the gardens? Or a pool? Trees?

@alwaysamom , to set it up, you have cable to outline where it can and cannot go. It acts as a guide and it learns the route after a couple of runs. It goes around everthing it should very thoroughly.
