Rolling addmissions?

Does rolling applications mean that I can apply whenever?

Do people who apply earlier have a better chance than those who apply later?

Is Penn state a good school even if you don’t get into the honors program.

Speaking Generally,
if you apply to a school for its honor’s program and you don’t get accepted into the honor’s program, does that mean you don’t get accepted into the school?

Yes to both.

Sure, I love it and I’m not in the honor college.

To be accepted to Schreyer you need to be accepted to Penn State. If you don’t get into Schreyer, you may still be accepted to the school if your stats allow it.

So, I should just try for the honors program?

Are the class sizes large?
I want a college that has small class sizes, would this be a school for me?

Well the lectures are not small and the classrooms can be small or large, it really depends. The honor college is known for its smaller class sizes, but that doesn’t mean a non-honor scholar won’t have any small classes.

Try for the honor college if you meet the “requirements” of SAT scores and GPA, and you’ll need to have good essays and have some e.c.'s. Maybe you should give us your stats so we can investigate your chances at Schreyer.

actually, besides the entry level classes (like Phys 211, 212, chem 12, etc.) A lot of the class sizes arent even bad. :)

math: 570
reading: 530
gpa: 4.0w

Very good e.c.s
A lot of communnity service

1 very good teach. rec. and 1 okay teach.

SATs might be too weak for Schreyer, but if you want to try go for it. You’ll need to write really good essays and make sure your recs are good.

SATs definately too low for Schreyer. May be too low for general admission (non-Schreyer). But 2/3 of consideration at PSU-UP is cumul average and rigor of coursework. So the low SAT may not be disqualifying. .
