Does this school practice rolling admissions? If so what is the turnaround time for a decision? Also, how heavily do they consider the SAT scores? I know several big state schools consider GPA over the SAT, while many private schools do the opposite, does anyone know where they stand on this? Thank you!

No, it does not practice rolling decisions (much to the consternation of myself and many of my friends). I can also tell you that UMCP is fairly notorious for putting an emphasis on SAT scores as cutoffs for everything (though more scholarships and Honors than admission I think), but that’s what I have heard to be true.

Here are the application deadlines. UMCP fills most of its class with students who apply by the priority deadline.

Here are some FAQs that mention admissions factors. Most schools aren’t really clear about how they weight GPA vs SAT. UMCP doesn’t (yet) consider SAT writing scores so only Math and CR count. I agree that SAT are pretty important for the honors program (1410 was average for honors kids entering in 2006.)
