Induced late on the 30th so probably 31st or 1st.
I mentioned before that my sister was induced 3 times over the course of a week and a half before getting a c section. I think they’ll only let me go until the 1st and then we’ll opt for c section.

I was induced at 9 am and my daughter showed up four hours later.
Yep, you never know. I was zero dilated with no contractions and my water broke (guess my active baby poked it). The doctor said he would induce and see how it went. He was anticipating a slow process, probably overnight with delivery the next day Well, baby was born about 5-6 hours after they started the Pitocin.
This thread is one of the few bright spots in my day.
Wishing romani, baby, and Mr R the best of everything.
I was 4 cm and 90% effaced at 37 weeks with S1, before they began induction. That baby was out fast! Also induced with S2 – started at 7 am, and I thought great – the bronze medal hockey game was on at 11 am, so I’d get to see it, have the baby during the afternoon and watch women’s figure skating finals in my room that evening. Ha! S2 arrived during Kristi Yamaguchi’s gold medal performance.
I have used this as leverage to have first dibs on the TV during any Olympic coverage since.
One of my kids was five days past his due date. My labor was really low-key but reptile brain was telling me it was time. Nurses heard timing and intervals of contractions and said there was no need to show up yet but I could if I wanted to. Was already 6 or 7 cm dilated. The whole thing kind of snuck up on me. When I was at 10 cm and it was time to push I hit the 8 cm “I changed my mind we’re leaving now” state. I still remember husband and OB looking at each other from either side of me with “You tell her, dude.” “Not a chance – YOU do it.” very plain on their faces.
SO. EXCITED. We will send all our good thoughts !!
(I was induced but nothing happened, a few hours later Dr. broke my water, we labored from the end of Monday Night Football – weird the things you remember— off and on through the night. My tiny tiny boy was born as the sun came up. True story)
With my first, I had my first contraction on my way to work. I stayed through a staff meeting, timing these little contractions. When the meeting was over, I announced that I was leaving to go have a baby. I stopped by the bank and the grocery store. (D was about 10 days early so I wasn’t quite ready yet.) Went home, took a bath, shaved my legs, lay around timing contractions. I remember calling my parents that evening and very nonchalantly telling them that we would be leaving for the hospital when Wheel of Fortune was over!
So different… with my firsts (twins), I caught a small stomach virus from H. Threw up and it broke someone’s amniotic sac. 4 hours later and they had both been born! It was a really scary rollercoaster ride at first. The doctor told me to push and I thought, “no, it’s the wrong month”, lol.
D3 OTOH took forever.
My mom tells this story about my labor.
She took off about a week and a half before my due date. Spent the first few days cleaning and then sat down to relax for a week.
As soon as she sat down her water broke. She called the pizzeria where my dad was working and they went to the hospital where they told her it would be a few days and to go home. She did but quickly came back because she was having strong contractions and they were in the beginning of a blizzard. She didn’t want to risk being stranded in the snow.
I showed up after about 24 hours of labor. But she ended up leaving the hospital just a few hours later because there were no complications and her insurance offered her $$$$ incentive to go home early.
It’s been almost 30 years and she still refers to that as the only time I’ve ever been early to anything in my life.
Today (Saturday) is my last day of work before maternity leave. Yikes…
We tried to do an impromptu, quarantined maternity shoot. What we got instead was a handful of bump pictures before my dog demanded that she be involved and we just got a few with her. If any of you still have the link to the album from my baby shower or the nursery wall, I added pictures to there.
I’m also going to add pictures to that album of the baby when they come. You can PM me if you want the link or after I stop posting on here, people are welcome to share it on my behalf :). Remember you must request via PM!
@romanigypsyeyes your baby’s arrival is truly something I am looking forward to! Thank you for sharing happiness with us, especially in these dark days. Hope you get lots of rest before delivery day.
I am leaving for Ann Arbor in a few hours. I will actually be in town for the big day!! Giving you more positive baby mojo… ??.
These are lovely to read!
When I was pregnant w/ S1, we were living in upstate NY, with all of my fmaily in the midwest. I had hyperemesis w/ both of my boys, but it was especially bad w/ S1. Eventually we got to nearly 36 weeks and he stopped growing. Day before Thanksgiving, a month before due date I went in for a NST. OB came in, asked if I’d eaten that day. To which I said yes, you told me to eat something to get baby active…
She said “Ok, then go home. Have your husband take you out for a nice dinner b/c tomorrow you’ll be a mom.”
Sort of stunned I called my mom to say baby was coming next day (scheduled c-section). Her response- “What?! You can’t do this to me!! I have 30 people here tomorrow for Thanksgiving!!” LOL
The only thing I remember about S2 was the OB telling me as she’s pulling him out… “Ok, you’re done! Your uterus is so thin not only can I see he has a ton of hair, but it’s blond!” So weird what you remember.
I’ve been reading this thread but never posted before. Just wanted to say good luck to you and your family. What a wonderful gift!! <3
All my best to you! It won’t be long now.
Your baby is blessed to have you as a parent. ? ?
That is so kind. Thank you.
I’m terrified to be a parent but it’s happening now ready or not lol
I babysat my 11-month old grandson for 10 hours today. He’s a total doll and I’m totally exhausted!
@romanigypsyeyes . I’ve only been gone a minute and all this wonderful stuff has happened, so proud of you and wishing you a safe delivery. All will be well!
It has been wonderful for us old folks to share this journey with you. Especially at this time with so much bad news (even here on CC). Best of luck to the 3 of you!
All the best to you @romanigypsyeyes . You’ve got the entire CC community rooting for your little family.
