Roomates

When do most colleges notify of roomates for incoming freshman?

July…some are early July (6th for UVA), some are end of July (VT is 30th or 31st). Transfers are usually within weeks of turning in an app.
Stanford they don’t, you find out Day 1. I don’t know how many others do this too.

Try looking on the school’s webpage, it’ll probably say there, or give you a ballpark. Or give the housing dept a call.

It varies school by school so you’ll have to contact the school your child is attending. One of my Ds received her freshman year roommate info about a month in advance of move-in day, so that they were able to communicate and decide who was bringing what. Another found out ON move-in day when, as she was unpacking, the girl walked into the room. Not all schools provide roomie info in advance, unfortunately. I can’t remember how it worked for D1 in freshman year because it was too long ago! :)

I found out my roommate information last week around the 25th of June or so. Move-in day is the 16th of August.

my sister went to a small all grls private college…she requested a grl they met at a scholarship brunch…they found out shortly after the lunch they would b roomates and were really excited…except w/ in months the hated eachother…but the friends my sister made in her dorm that yr made up shes still close w/ them
