<p>If you are entering a school as a new 10th grader, will you have a roomate who is also new to the school, or someone returning? Because don’t returning students usually get to pick who their roomate will be, why would they want a new student?</p>
<p>Yes, they generally try and pair new students together. Sometimes new 11th graders or seniors will get a returning student because of the way rooming works out.</p>
<p>They try to put new students with new students. I actually ended up with a returning student when I started at school (as a new eleventh grader). Most of it depends on the survey we had to fill out about about our habits and stuff like that.</p>
<p>At Andover, they pair you with someone who is a new person too, or in a single dorm room.</p>
