I’ll like you. :)

thats what i was thinking! my main concern is me feeling bad (and my roomate hating me) when it comes to waking up. i sleep deeply and it takes A LOT to wake me up. (it takes 3 alarms on my phone, an alarm clock turned up way loud going off for about 15-30 min, and some light source to wake me up). i think, though, that if i have class after 10 it shouldn’t be as much of a problem. right now i wake up around 630 to be able to get to school on time.

maybe going to sleep earlier would help.

i am also scared my roomate will hate me or that my roomate will bore me to tears

I’m actually terrible about waking up too. I set my alarm half an hour before I’m supposed to get up just so I can mentally prepare myself to get out of bed, and I hit the snooze button every ten minutes (I use two alarms as well: my regular alarm clock and my mobile). If I have class at or after 9:30, I should be okay. I wake up at 6:45 right now and I can hardly wait for the day where I get to sleep in a little while longer during weekdays.

Sleeping earlier isn’t really an option, though I guess it depends on how you define “early.” I define midnight to be pretty early. It’s nearly impossible for me to fall asleep before then on a regular basis.

Yes! Haha, thanks.

I’ve also got an issue with the sleep thing…I tend to go to bed reaaallll late sometimes, and really early other times, but I sleep in late. I rarely wake up before 10 unless I have to.

Oh yeah, and for school, I set my alarm to 6, but don’t actually get up until 7…then rush to leave by 7:30. >.<

i can never sleep past 7 naturally

see. double has the advantage of learning how to deal/compromise with your roomate. it makes you a much more understanding person. =]

;) It’s when you figure out that you can’t deal/compromise with your roommate that you start envying the single-roomers, I bet.

I was looking through other ucsd forums, and just the wide consensus seemed to be single is just as good as double in terms of getting to know people socially, but seems to be that if you have irky habits (as I definitely do, such as sleeping at 4 am, spending 30-45 minutes just trying to wake up, etc), single would be better.

I’m sure my roommate would hate me within the few month or two if I get a double.

i’m gonna miss having my dad as my alarm clock. oh well. im usually good at waking up when i have to. i think erc has the single room lottery system. im gonna sign up for that and hope for the best. if i dont get a single i dont mind having the double either… as long as the roomie doesnt start hating on me. (and the girlfriend, hah)
