Igloo, Hungarians generally don’t speak Arabic either. That’s the point. Taking advantage of the chaos to get away with things that would otherwise be impossible.
My fundamental concern is not language bastardization, but that people are being lied to in the name of forcing a policy that people would not allow if they fully were explained. These people are essentially finding a new home country and are going to stay put. It is clear that media government are using the word differently than before.
And yes, I do blame the media for not being accurate on purpose. I find this no different than “Hands up. Don’t shoot” still being used / repeated by the media even though they know it did not happen, as that phrase says. There are tons of examples.
To answer you, first, you have to be accurate.
You completely misstate the narrative and conditions of the current situation - the tens of thousands of people are NOT in those countries; they are at the border, on the other side, i.e., outside of those countries. The Gulf States figured out an effective and easy answer - do not let them in, unless they are of known identity AND if they have some sort of way to support themselves in country. Meaning, the goal is not to come live off my country’s citizens.
And, as for the previous people who were let in over the past decades, Europe has to deal with at has they see fit. But, letting some in previously is not a valid reason to compound your problem. In fact, adding more is stupid given the problems Europe already has with Middle Easterners, who, I again state, have zero desire to adopt or follow Western values. And, as @zoosermom stated, “I can say that that won’t end well and I don’t think successful integration is going to be the end result.”
As Decider, I would start with this philosophy - when in a hole, stop digging - so I would put away the shovels - thus, stop entries into my country. People are not going to make the trek and come if they know they cannot get in, and that housing and food would not be handed to them. However, I do get that being PC means often going against common sense. Therefore, people (European leaders) do many asinine things to their own civilization’s detriment.
“the tens of thousands of people are NOT in those countries; they are at the border, on the other side, i.e., outside of those countries.”
– They’re in Greece. They’re in Italy. They’re in Hungary. They’re in the EU, which technically doesn’t have borders.
“Stop entries into my country. People are not going to make the trek and come if they know they cannot get in”
– and how are you going to do this? Unless you’re prepared to shoot at unarmed people they WILL get in. As they’ve proved over the past weeks, and as it’s proven every day on the Mexican/American border.
The Mexican/American border is OUR issue that we ourselves can not resolve for quite a long time. There are many “interest groups” involved here: business (will the business, esp. agriculture and food processing, really be hurt if they won’t be let in), US citizens (there are many subgroups whose interest may be in conflict with each other), politicians (getting the votes from either group: the group for it and the group against it), etc. Looking at an even bigger picture: this is a part of the immigration issue (e.g., the tech leaders like Bill Gates and others, always want more H1-B quota, resulting in many youngsters in the next generation whose families have financial means being reluctant to get into engineering.)
My point, @mcat2, is that unless you’re willing to have armed guards every few feet on every foot of your border, and are willing to shoot at whoever crosses it, people WILL CROSS. It has nothing to do with H1-B quotas or interests groups.
Sorry, but this is pure defeatist nonsense that can be proved not to be the case by looking at countries, which have welfare states and those, which do not.
Simple logic of necessities; that is, no one goes where no resources given to them, as that would be futile. Europe is inviting its own problem. Just like we are with the mexican border, in that over 50% of illegals immigrants from Mexico, Central America and elsewhere are on US government assistance. Your tax dollars at work taking care of people, most who do not care or have an interest to adopt American values. There is a reason those latin people are not rushing to to Mexico - no welfare system for illegals exist there.
This sums it up rather well:

EDIT: Historically, I think the welfare states and PC mindset of the Western countries are going to accomplish in Europe what the Ottoman Empire failed to do, and Europe will be smiling right up until they realize what happened to it.
@mcat2, and I think it’s the height of naivete by you to think that the current Kim ruling N. Korea would ever set foot in S. Korea.
@awcntdb, I call BS on your assertion that over 50% of illegal immigrants in the US are on public assistance, unless you are counting schooling in that (and us teaching them is a good thing if we care about our future). How exactly are they able to get public assistance? With what identification from what agencies?
Please provide a source.
Man, who knew Donald Trump had a CC account?
BS really refers to your level of knowledge here, not to my statement.
They get the assistance simply because our stupid US government teaches them how to and does not require status to get many benefits. Below is but one type of benefit they can get illegally:
http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2015/09/01/immigrant-welfare-use-report/71517072/
Key sentence from latest study:
Please note the welfare in question does not include “schooling.”
As to your specific question of how, the study addresses this as well:
So, there are programs that they get regardless just for showing up. Another straight-forward welfare state.

The bottom line is taxpayers are paying for higher percentages of immigrant households (legal or illegal) to be in this country. I, for one, think this should not be the case. And that is why I pay the least taxes possible because I refuse to feed a beast that wastes my money. This “drain on public coffers” would be drastically reduced if the illegal immigrant number were reduced.
(All Emphases above are mine)
Between the migrant crisis & the cross-border Thalys train terrorism attempt, I wonder how much longer before the Schengan Zone is history.
^^^ I know, right?
I agree with you that it is essentially impossible for the dictator ruling N. Korea to set his foot in S. Korea (actually in most other countries.) I actually heard that he might fear for his life in his own country too (e.g., avoid traveling by train/bus - flying whenever possible instead, keep his schedule and movement in secret till the very last minute.)
I wrote that paragraph because I knew it is impossible. Should it happen, they have made a very good progress in resolving their “problem” - i.e., he trusts the other side enough without constantly worrying about he himself being assassinated.
Memo to Denmark:
The migrants will keep coming until the benefits are reduced 100%.
Work? Like anyone else? Savings? Welfare? Relatives? Maybe they’ll stay and roll bandages. If you want to exist as a country, there is a price you might have to pay.
Of course, leaving is easier.
My question is why countries like Saudi, and other Arabic countries do not take them. It would be much less clash of culture, language, law then coming to Europe.
^I posted a link earlier addressing the issue.
Migrant crisis: Why the Gulf states are not letting Syrians in
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-34173139
For now, their biggest contribution to the region may be staying stable however flawed it may be.
It’s getting really crazy when Hispanic illegals file a 10 million dollar lawsuit against the United States for bad treatment of them in our detention centers after they crossed the border illegally.
Migrant Wave Inspires Others to Attempt Trek to Europe
Iraqis are joining Syrians in taking what to many seems like a ‘golden opportunity’

I just want to be clear that my heart aches for the displaced people, particularly in Syria. However, I am also outraged because it should never have come to this. The entire mess was foreseeable and warned of, but the warnings were ignored. Also, there is no question that a large number of angry, entitled young men are using this opportunity and absolutely no good will come of it. Are they all terrorists? Absolutely not. But the patriarchal, hyper-religious culture is absolutely not compatible with western values, and the priority of every country should always be its own citizens. The Washington Post had a very important editorial this morning on the issue. I won’t link it because it does venture into the realm of the political, and I am learning too much from posters here to even come near that line.
