Ross Business School

How competitive are the students and the grading? What are the best things about Ross, what are the worst? If you were picking a business school again would this be your choice?

someone respond to this i have all the same questions!

The competitiveness is similar to the pre-med level of competitiveness.

I’m currently a rising sophomore pre-admitted to the business school and I’ll give you my thoughts on what I can tell you from our program and how familiar I am with Ross as well as my upperclassman friends who are in the school.

-How competitive are the students and the grading?
Students are VERY competitive. If you don’t do well with competition, this might not be the school for you, especially in Finance. I wouldn’t say that should deter you from applying though because I think if you work hard and set a goal for yourself, you can definitely make it.

-What are the best things about Ross, what are the worst?
As a pre-admit, I can only say so much since I technically am not in the b-school till September. However, I love that Ross sets its curriculum for us. Many people might say that it holds you back from doing what you want to do but I disagree. You get a little taste of everything. From accounting to marketing to finance, Ross’s goal is to get you to be a well-rounded business person for the real world because even if you work in finance, you’re still going to use skills from the other areas.

As for the worst, I’d definitely say the competition. Even as a pre-admit, I can see it already forming and I know how tough it’ll be. But to me, it’s worth it in the end.

-If you were picking a business school again would this be your choice?
I have never heard any of my friends say they would choose a different business school over Ross. Ross kids love it even though it is really hard. And it’s not just Ross itself. We’re part of the University of Michigan which is the coolest place to go to school with a great mix of academics, athletics and the social aspect. I honestly love it here so much and I really think everyone in the business school does too.

Hope that helped!

I’m an incoming freshman preadmit this year and your advice has me a little spooked  Eeek
