Ross Preparation Initiative

I am considering applying to the Ross Preparation Initiative since I want to get into the BBA program through regular decision. My academic advisor said I should take it if I want to get into the BBA program but does anyone know if this program is actually helpful? Can any past participants shed light on the helpfulness of participating in the program / acceptance rate into the BBA program?

I hadn’t heard of the program. With that being said

“…for reasons beyond their control, their pre-college learning situations have left them unprepared to realize that potential through conventional university alternatives”

"participation in the program will help students develop the skills and habits needed to become academically successful and, therefore, improve participants’ demonstrated mastery of essential mathematics and economics concepts. This in turn enhances their ability to compete successfully for places in the BBA Program, thereby fostering the diversity – broadly defined – of the Business School student body. "

seems like diversity student recruiting language. It looks like a program for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

This program seems like a signal to admissions that you’re serious about your application, but may not be the best use of your time in terms of learning depending on your previous education.
