ross scholarships??

I’m an incoming freshman at michigan and i’m going to apply to ross. does ross offer scholarships if you get in as a freshman? is it common?
i’m OOS so money is an issue for me and well it would be awesome if ross gave scholarships to people with good grades

neg. i dont know of any ross-specific scholarships that they gave out (at least not this year)… i was OOS as well and though i wasnt offered any ross-specific scholarships, if youre qualified enough to be chosen as a preferred admit, you will most likely receive a nice sum of money from the u of m as a whole… get what im saying?

What is your SAT/GPA?

ross does offer scholarships, but not for pre-admits. once you apply and get accepted into the b-school, they’ll contact you. we’re supposed to be hearing back sometime this month if we got anything.

“Scholarship funds come from both corporate (e.g., Boeing Company, Caterpillar Foundation, Target Corporation and Xerox Corporation) and private donors. Awards are competitive and based on financial need, academic ability, and the availability of funds. Individual awards range from $250 to $10,000.”

so how common is it to get these scholarships??

no idea. i’ll let you know if i get anything.

Michigan is not known for giving OOSers scholarship money.

michigan financial aid and ross financial aid is different buddy.

as posted earlier…

these scholarships have nothing to do with the main office of financial aid at umich. people have already received their official award packages.

I got an e-mail saying I got a $6,000 Jay J. Levin scholarship for 2006 to 2007, but I have to send my resume to the donor before I can get it.

6k?! o_O
i’m getting so knee-high in debt right now that any scholarship would be good for me…

“if youre qualified enough to be chosen as a preferred admit, you will most likely receive a nice sum of money from the u of m as a whole… get what im saying?”

uhhhh… hahaha im a PA and i got jack squat.
but then again i am OOS

you won’t get any scholarships from ross as a PA. you might get some next year though once you ‘officially’ enter the bba program.

yea that’s what i meant…once your actually admitted to the ross program.

are there any that aren’t need based?

ccrunner: 33 (ACT)/ 3.9 UW

They said they gave out about 800 scholarships to the class of 2010 as a whole. And comparatively, Michigan’s scholarships are really small…

As you will note, buddy, the original poster is an incoming freshman. I stand by my earlier post… Michigan is not known for giving OOSers scholarship money.
