ROTC Scholarships MIT/Harvard/Tufts

For those of you who may want to finance your tuition at MIT/Harvard/Tufts the applications deadlines are approaching for ROTC scholarships.

Navy, Marine Corps and Army offer full scholarships in any major that includes all tuition, book money, health fees, student activity fees and monthly stipend. The post college comittment is 8 years and can be done in a combination of active and reserve service.

Air Force offers tiered scholarships depending on your major with a prefernce for technical majors.

The scholarships do not require a service comittment until after freshman year.

What are the deadlines? Do you get a preference in admissions if you apply to the ROTC?

This info is for NROTC only. I’m pressed for time just now but I’ll see if I can provide links for the other branches.

Last NROTC Scholarship Board for 2007

The last NROTC Scholarship Board for 2007 meets 10-14 December. To have a chance of your application being reviewed by the Board, it needs to be completed by 16 Nov 2007.

The Board will also meet in 2008 but there will probably be a high volume of applicants to be reviewed in January and February may slow the scholarship award process.

Air Force

Army

I know MIT has really great ROTC, NROTC and AFROTC units with amazing people. The units train with Tufts and Harvard.

I don’t know of any obvious preference for admission other than you will not need to request financial aid.
