Rowan or Stony Brook Biomedical or Chemical Engineering Pharmaceutics

I am stuck between Rowan and Stony Brook an I do not know what to chose:
I want to participate in research in college and have hands on experience
I am looking for a community that focuses on working together instead of competing with each other.

Rowan:
small class sizes
great new engineering buildings and equipment
committed faculty

‘in the middle of “no where”’ +no bus or trains near by and no cars on campus freshman and sophomore year.
I’m concerned about gaining connections for internships over the summer (preferably with a pharmaceutical company)

Stony Brook
Great labs and equipment
lots of research opportunities
Close to the city (bus system) and easy to get there to the city or home and back

Larger class sizes up to 570 people per a class especially the first year.

If anyone has gone to these schools can you please tell me how the classes are and what the schools are like.
How is the job placement after graduation?
Are the people there happy to be there and excited/passionate about learning/teaching?

Thank you!
