RPI Early Action / Early Decision Fall 2025 Admissions

yes, my son can access it with his credentials

Yes, we can access it as well. Does anyone know if we will receive info on potential merit offered at the same time as acceptance (if accepted!) or if that comes later?

Access to the admitted students events page probably means nothing or given the small sample size… all are accepted! :grinning: I think it financial aid may come later from what I heard but if they have all information including CSS and FAFSA. they may send it along … like RIT. How do you rate RPI among your other acceptances or options. Without a big chunk of merit aid, RPI is generally not an option for many

Yeah. Merit $ is going to be big factor for us. Hopefully they won’t disappoint us

Cost increase by nearly 2.5k for 2025-26. Even if accepted, most likely merit aid will not be sufficient. we don’t qualify for any federal need based aid…

Three years ago, my son received his incredibly generous RPI merit award with his acceptance. I don’t know if they still do it the same way. Good luck!

Decision in the portal right at 7 PM. No email yet.

There IS a merit award letter there as well. My kid’s merit is noted as the RPI Medal and listed as $50k. When they got the award last fall, the certificate said it was worth $40k/yr ($160k total) so apparently they increased the value of the RPI medal to $50k/yr ($200k total)

S25 accepted to Mech Eng 34.5K Rensselaer Leadership award and 5.5k Fed unsubsidized loan package. The acceptance didn’t mention the major though but see it in portal… is it the same for others accepted.

D25 got CS with a total of 50K merit. We feel that is a good merit. It says for the current year. How difficult it is to renew this every year?

Son got accepted for CS with a $43K merit for being a Rensselaer medalist. It looks like not all medalists get the same amount. Maybe they adjust based on the FAFSA’s student aid index…

That’s new, I don’t think the medal has been worth different amounts in the past.

We do not have any demonstrated financial need at any US college so I do not think it’s SAI based.

Same with us, we don’t qualify for any need-based assistance. Congrats! Looks like your kid is a super strong applicant. Good luck on future decisions.

nah, who knows

does your acceptance letter mention the major? I just want to be sure as usually other acceptances mentioned college or major

It’s not on the letter but on the portal itself under “Major”.

it does not, but the financial letter does

Thanks… same here. thought it was odd they did not put it in the decision letter

My son was accepted as well for Aerospace with a $38.5k leadership scholarship. Unfortunately that doesn’t bring RPI even remotely in reach of his Purdue acceptance, where he also received a scholarship. Wasn’t meant to be I guess! Congrats to everyone!
