Recently I have gotten accepted for mathematics to both RPI and Northeastern. I got the Rensselaer medal for RPI and got into the honors program for Northeastern. Both of the colleges have offered 30k a year in merit scholarship. I was wondering which school would be best for me to pursue my math major. I intent to go and get a masters and possibly a PhD in mathematics after completing my undergraduate education. Which do you guys think would be the best for preparing me for grad school as well as my future career?
Both schools will prepare you well for grad school. Northeastern coops would give you the opportunity to do at least two six month coop periods that are integrated with your academic work. If you do two coops you can still gradute in 4 years.
To me it would come down to Troy, NY versus Boston. From my screen name you will see my bias.
