Hey! I am a student attempting to transfer to RPI for fall 2024. I have completed one semester at marist college with a 3.81 GPA and a highschool gpa of about 3.0
What do you think my chances are?
Do you meet the requirements:
You must complete at least a pre-calculus level mathematics course before you enroll at Rensselaer. In addition, most majors require students to have a completed physics course prior to enrollment. You are also strongly encouraged to pursue courses related to your intended area of study.
I guess it will depend on how they judge your hs record. For context, and this is two years back as their most recent CDS is locked - they admitted 170 out of 278 transfers.
We don’t know their prior accomplishments - but I’d assume you have a decent chance - but perhaps your 3.0 in HS and test score will impact.
The only one who knows is the school - and you’ll find out soon enough!!!
Yeah in High school I completed pre calc, calc, and AP physics and I was an eagle scout. Im applying for compsci. We’ll see!

Have you heard back from RPI yet? My son just applied as a transfer with similar stats-hoping to hear back by the end of the month.
