RSI 2006 Introductions

do we have to bring a copy of Frankenstein?
sorry if this was already mentioned before…

wow, crap. my cousins going to RS1, dammit… Now shes guranteed to get into MIT

I’m also arriving on the 24th in the evening. (the only other way I could have gotten there was to take a red eye, and they told me not to do that)
I know we had to read Frankenstein and I think we have to bring it too.

RSI is three days away!!!

I am arriving on sunday morning.

anyone else find frankenstein boring?

i did…i thought the book was kinda of predictable. i read half of it, and skimmed through the rest…

who hasn’t packed yet? i haven’t…

Btw, I don’t think I can fit everything into one suitcase, will it be too much to bring two? They are relatively small…

i started frankenstein like 3 weeks ago and finally finished it last night. i admit i fell asleep many times while reading it. no wonder the hollywood version changed so much of it. it was mostly just victor agonizing over the trouble he’s caused. it was really well written though. the version i have has tons of footnotes and endnotes about all the little literary allusions and such throughout the text.

i visited MIT today, because my parents wanted to see what exactly i was getting myself into, and i took the regular admissions tour, to see how they pitch the school. it just made me more and more excited about being there for six weeks. i also got to go into the first floor of simmons hall, and it’s quite the building. funny, though, how it’s this brand new, fifty million dollar building, and it doesn’t even have air conditioning…

i brought two big suitcases. one stuffed with enough clothes to keep me from doing laundry too often, and the other with everything else. geez, i think i’m ready for a journey to the south pole

I was planning on packing saturday night. I am thinking 1 suitcase + backpack. I’ll bring a dufflebag too if necessary. At worst, I’ll just do laundry every week.

Today’s Friday. I’m counting this as the last day before ISEF because although I’m leaving on Sunday, I don’t expect to sleep on Saturday, and thus no sleep means no barrier between days. I’m so freaking excited :D!

you mean RSI :-)

ha…yes…i definitely mean RSI. My packing is going pretty well…its amazing all the things that can fit into a suitcase if you shove hard enough (:

Oh my god… I have waited for 3 years for the next day and I can’t believe it finally came… I am extremly excited… I wish good luck to everyone and have a nice and calm trip  See Ya tomorrow ;)

Mwahahahahaa!!! 2 and a half hours until RSI.

Excited? Of course I am!!!

WOOHOOO!!! I can’t wait to kick my parents out of the dorm!

so this thing is just standing around for 6 weeks doing research 10 hours a day?

No, we also go to classes and lectures by famous scientists about what they do best. There are also excursions to other parts of New England and the greater Boston area, as well as the activities planned and organized by the counselers, staff and students. At the end you have a great project that you had an amazing time completing and experiences that you will never forget. Hey, I’ve only been here two days and I already can’t belive the amazing amount of stuff we have done!

RSI IS TOTALLY AND UTTERLY AWESOME

just thought I’d voice my thoughts ;)

RSI is amazing…we’re “learning” Athena right now  hehe

Too much stuff in one day… no sleep. :(
