@OleColtrane Also, how bad do you think it is if some of the answers are only at half the word count? Is the word count intended to be a very high number that basically prevents people from writing stupidly long stuff, or is it meant to be a solid/slightly high estimate of how much you ought to write?
@QuestionCactus I had a lot I wanted to say, so I wrote up to the character limits. If you find you’ve written everything you want to talk about, then I wouldn’t worry if it’s not at the character limit. Obviously you should stop writing when it feels natural, and I think the character limits are partly to stop people from submitting life histories or other super long essays. In short, it’s better to have a short but concise essay than to try to artificially extend it so you reach the limit.
i wrote a more personal story/narrative about a community service program i’m heavily involved in for my community outreach essay. do you think that’ll be alright? i thought since we listed most of our activities and awards in a different section, i could use this essay to focus on my involvement.
@exa526 Judging by past comments on this thread, that’s probably fine. I’m no authority on the subject, though.
@exa526 Yeah, as long as you answer the prompt and keep it focused a personal story can actually be better imo compared to a regular essay.

@OleColtrane I just got into USACO Platinum yesterday. In my app I said that I expected to get in during this contest. Should I email CEE to show that I followed through with my claim? If so which email should I send it to?

@DontBlameMePls @JKMSNJ You’d have to find the official RSI application email and contact them about updating your application. I believe the email to contact is maite@cee.org, though I would double check on the website.
@Apro10232 I don’t know how the distinction between domestic and international works, so I would contact RSI to double check you submitted in the right place.
