For all that applied from the east coast, what are your credentials?
36/1570/800/800 for ACT/SAT/Chem/Math II
I got a 1540 on the SAT but a 1500 on PSAT. Do you think the 1540 will hurt my chances?
Also how much will being a part of the MIT PRIMES program help? Because I just finished up my research, I haven’t submitted it for publication anywhere.
Do ya’ll know when decisions will be released?
And have any of ya’ll had success updating your application?
What do you mean by updating your application @Auraxius ?
@Auraxius Decisions will be released at the end of February/ at the beginning of March. I do not think it is possible to update your application.
Does demographics or being from a lesser known state help?
can someone look at my stats? they’re on the first couple of pages. My scores aren’t great bc i haven’t taken the sat yet (only psat). how much will having my research presented at the united nations general assembly in feb 2018 help me?
@Apro10232 According to @8thgradekid no.
Also, @8thgradekid or others from the East Coast (specifically MA), what were your stats?
@mathisfun888 pls stop asking ppl for their stats. RSI admissions is more than just that. Also, we have only half a month left, so it won’t change your app and you’ll find out soon enough. Whatever happens, happens.
@Anonymousia I only asked twice but I understand that I may have overstepped boundaries, I’m sorry. I know its a moonshot, but for some reason, I’m still pretty anxious. :(. Anyway, you’re right, I should probably be focusing on other things right now instead of rereading this thread…
Also, to clarify by stats I meant everything in your application (LOR, Awards, Olympiads, Research, Essays), maybe I misused the term.
@OleColtrane Think we should expect results soon? This is pretty exciting.
@GalaxyWarp Last year results were sent out around February 28 or March 1, so my expectation would be sometime next week.
@OleColtrane Could you tell us a little about your feelings this time, last year?
@GalaxyWarp To be honest, I’m probably a bad person to ask. I didn’t know much about RSI or how selective it was until much after I got accepted, so I didn’t really expect anything. So I really didn’t have much anticipation or feelings until I got the acceptance email.
ignorance is bliss
@OleColtrane How did you find out? Do they send an email to everyone admitted or do you need to log into slideroom?
@OleColtrane Did you apply to any other research/summer programs last year?
