Rumor or the Truth?

<p>I know for a fact that college do kick off students who drop their gpa during their senior year. however is it that typical?
like ive never heard of a kid who got dropped. (that i know of. not the news stories).</p>

<p>if it is what is GW’s minimun drop level? or what is the gpa that you got and not get dropped from gw if you are a gw student.</p>

<p>im not saying im gunna drop my grades just to be lazy or anything and you guys shouldnt but is it really true? to the extent? or just a rumor.

<p>It depends on the situation, so there are no minimum GPA requirements or anything. However, if you’re an A/B student and you suddenly fail all your classes, you may very well get your acceptance rescinded. If you get a couple of Cs, that isn’t going to kill you by any means. So basically, as long as you are doing as well as you have been or even a little bit worse, you’ll be fine.</p>

<p>do they care more about the overall grade in a class for the year, or quarter by quarter? i just got a D in chem ap for 3rd quarter but i still have As in every other class (says something about chem ap… haha). and i know i’ll probably end up with a C overall at the end of the year, so… am i gonna get rescinded?</p>

<p>Unless you are failing all of your classes, I would not worry about it.</p>

<p>Like I said before, one C isn’t going to kill you, nor is one D or even an F. Colleges don’t mind it if you’re having trouble with one class, particularly if it’s an AP, but they will take notice if across the board you are doing much worse than you normally would. It’s the people who really don’t care that get their acceptance rescinded, so basically if you are ■■■■■■■■ college discussion sites like this and you worried enough to post a message, it means that you care and are probably are going to be fine.</p>

<p>My roomate failed a class his senior year…and he’s evidently here.</p>

<p>Right now i just got my 3d quarter report card. i have A’s and B’s on everything except AP calc. I have a D in AP calc. I had a C last quarter and this quarter i just bombed. I’m trying my hardest to pull it up to atleast a C- but just incase i cant, will GW rescind me? I’m worried. And also I take a university level Biology course, it counts for both lab and lecture. I’ll probably get a C/B on my lecture grade… but my lab grade might be a D. Should i be worried. i really like GW and i’m trying my best … theres 3 weeks left…</p>

<p>probably not unless you fail the class and don’t graduate because of the F.</p>

<p>Personally, In my opinion, unless you have a significant drop from A+ to F, you won’t get rescind. However, if you got between C and D, I think they will ask you why you got a such a low grade.</p>

<p>academic probation is like a warning. You need to maintain or good grade, you should seriously need to study. you should be worried. If you don’t maintain a good average, you get kicked out.</p>
