Living in Jersey, Rutgers would obviously be the cheapest option of these three.

Although Binghamton is really cheap for an out of state school and may have more pull with job opportunities in NYC and other places.

Kelley obviously far surpasses Rutgers and Binghamton business with their powerhouse reputation, although it can cost up to 40k a year with traveling expenses and all, and I’m not really interested in starting my business career in the midwest.

Which of the three business schools would be the smarter option?

I would recommend IU since as you said they are well-known for their Business program. Even though it’s located in the Midwest, a lot of recruiters from the East Coast and West Coast would come. Doesn’t mean you have to stay in Chicago or something. I would then recommend Binghamton second since they also have a well-known Business program. Even though Rutgers is your cheapest option, imho I believe it’s more important to go to a more reputable school for Business since there are so many colleges that offer a degree in Business. More reputable schools will also lure in more reputable firms and companies for your future which is always a win win. The Midwest isn’t that bad either, I was born and raised in Jersey and I went to school at Purdue which is 2.5-3 hours north of IU. I personally prefer going to a school in the Midwest since the atmosphere and environment is so different and better imo. Best of luck.

I think it also depends on what exactly you want to major in. My brother says all the top firms recruit from Rutgers for accounting. Another friend works for Morgan Stanley and just hired a Rutgers Finance Grad.
Rutgers seems to be growing the Business program. It was not easy to get into their Business School this year.

I want to major in finance which is also ranked highly at Kelley

If you’re looking at Kelley and thinking about doing IBanking or Consulting, its not gonna help you that much more (if at all) in landing a position at a firm. Rutgers and Kelley both aren’t target schools.

I would suggest going to Tulane…(based on your id…lol)

Sorry, I have no clue about any of the business programs.
