Rutgers University - New Brunswick offers Early Action for freshman admissions.

The Early Action (EA) deadline for Fall 2025 admission at Rutgers is November 1, 2024.

Admission decisions are announced in waves, but all early action applicants should receive an admissions decision by January 31, 2025.

Anyone else here with students getting their Rutgers app ready? D26 here is noticing on the foibles of the application - no teacher recommendations! Will be curious to see if they get a crazy number of apps like last year.

I don’t believe they’ve ever asked for LoRs (or at least not in the past decade).

They had a huge surge in applications last year because they moved to the common app. I expect they will have similar numbers this year.

Yeah, we hadn’t appreciated the no recommendations! Part of her not sending in the app was thinking that she still needed to get her rec letters in and submitted, but apparently not!

And I’m looking forward to seeing the CDS for them once it comes out. Will be interesting to get the harder data on what the app volume was, admission rates, yield, etc. Not that we’d be able to use it - just idle curiosity at this point.

My DD26 is EA-

My son received email this morning. He is admitted to School of Business New Brunswick campus (one of the alternative majors he applied to). The intended major (Comp Sci) application is still under review. And there are no further details about scholarship or financial aid.

Son is OOS, from an OK public school, good GPA and SAT, with OK EC. I am amazed since we just sent out application right before the EA deadline last weekend. The decision came out so fast! My kid is relieved – we were so stressed out about the college essay the last couple weeks.

Congratulations!

Can you confirm it’s New Brunswick? School of Business at Newark I had heard reports about, but nothing for NB yet. Your son would be the first to report it, I think!

oh, it is Newark! Son must have applied to wrong campus :P. Well, at least he did not get the wrong campus for his intended major.

My daughter applied to both Newark and New Brunswick. She got into Newark recently, but is patiently waiting on NB. :sweat_smile:
