Rutgers Honors College 2020

@maggiedonlevie try posting to the rutgers 2024 facebook

@Tictacmissus can you link that?

@maggiedonlevie collegeconfidential won’t let me post because i got moderated but it is called rutgers class of 2024 (official)

what are dorms like for the honors college?

@maggiedonlevie :

If you get onto youtube, there are a few videos about it. Not bad at all :slight_smile:

Tomorrow is pharmacy open house from 10-1 pm !

@maggiedonlevie dimensionwise, I would say it is pretty average sized for a college dorm. My dorm is the normal sized dorm and I would say it is around 10x12 but the best benefits are that it’s super clean and new. There are lounges on every floor, with a main lounge at the main floor. If you live in the south wing, you have the best lounge which is the druskin lounge, which is where most of the events occur. It has a fireplace, chandeliers, and a piano as well as seminar rooms.

My D got into honor college through all three schools she applied, but with a different scholarship for each school ($19k from RBS, $10k from PharmD, $3.5K from SAS). Her stats is $1590 SAT and 4.60 WGPA, top 3% in her school (a very competitive magnet school), 12 AP (7 in Junior, and 5 in senior), and a bunch of decent EC and national awards in writing, math and physics. I thought she will get the presidential award, but she did not. Just for your reference if anyone is interested.

@SMKXZHANG 7 AP’s junior year??? did she even sleep??? amazing work tho, good job to your daughter! I could never take that many APs

Good job on your D achievements. My S got into HC for RBS with 19K merit scholarship also. Is 19K max we have seen in scholarships? I did not see anyone with “presidential scholarship”, which is a full ride. Was curious to know the Stats for that individual

@RNB2024 This year it is $29k a year max. Last year presidential was $28k and I got it with a 34 ACT/1530 SAT for SOE (which was the only school I applied to). They tend to give the presidential scholarships to individuals who are in tech/magnet schools and they might not use collegeconfidential

I was reading that for EMSOP, students have to take 21 honors credits. Is that 21 credits on top of the pharmacy curriculum or 21 credits that fulfil the requirements for the pharmacy program? Also, is there a current in the pharmacy HC on this forum or someone that knows someone? I was hoping to learn more about the school and how it works classwise

Hello everyone! So this is my first time here and I was really happy when I found out that there was a forum specifically for the Honours College. I’m an international student from India, and I got into the Rutgers Honours Program SAS, and I’m waiting on my Rice and UMich decisions. These are the three colleges that I love the most. Could anyone please share their opinions or anything that they believe makes one college out of these 3 stand out?

Anyone accepted to the BS/MD program?

Son received a presidential scholarship for honors college 1600 SAT, 4.0 GPA, 800s subject tests, all 5’s on APs and from competitive high school. Was denied or waitlisted at 4 top private unis, so most likely going to Rutgers (engineering and CS). Our daughter is also in the Rutgers honors college, a couple of years ahead.

Please do not let this define you. HC accepts very few people so the odds are similar to an IVY. A lot of very smart people do not make it into the HC. My daughter worked her but off, took 6 APs senior year had a 4.0 and 1520 SAT. She applied to 9 schools and got rejected everywhere except Rutgers. She was heartbroken and felt exactly as you do. In her case she did get into HC but that is not relevant as it makes no sense that she did not get accepted to schools like UMD and Northeastern. Now yes there are probably students less intelligent and less hardworking that will be in your classes but this is where you will see the benefits of your hard work. Rutgers accepts a lot of people but the weeding out process is brutal. Ask around, its true. Many students do not make it past the intro classes and have to change majors. Lastly, your hard work will pay off. I promise. I went to Rutgers and many of my friends have been very successful. Good luck!

Is there a waitlist process for HC or the Honors Program in SAS?
