Rutgers parentPLUS loan question?

I was applying with my mom today for the parentPLUS loan online, when I put in Rutgers as my school only to find that it was “invalid” and that Rutgers followed a different procedure for applying for the parentPLUS loan. I remember it saying something on the financial aid page that applications on the student loan website will be ready for filling out on July 1st. CAN this be true? WHY so close to September? What if I get denied?!? Has any one here from Rutgers ever fill out the parentPLUS request form online, and know that you can only fill it out after July 1st?

Thank you… :)

BUMP… I really need this info… :/

I didn’t apply for a ParentPLUS loan so i don’t know exactly but i would say your best bet is to call the financial aid office directly and ask them your questions. the number should be on their website.

The PLUS loan application will be available starting from July 1, 2012.

Actual tuition and fee amounts are determined in mid-July for the 2012-2013 academic year. Therefore, we recommend that you request the maximum amount, up to the school’s cost of attendance. PLUS loans can be easily reduced through a written statement from the borrower if you decide later to decrease the requested amount. If you or your parents wish to increase the amount of your 2012-2013 PLUS loan, please go to studentloans.gov.

Ok thank you…
