Rutgers University Early Action for Fall 2025

Does anyone know if applicants (applying for admission next year) who’d like to be admitted to Rutgers Honors program need a minimum SAT score and if so what is the cutoff?

I don’t think there is a hard and fast rule, although I’d suspect pretty high based on results I’ve seen. My kids’ 33 and 34 didn’t seem to cut it.

An admissions counselor that came to my D26’s school last year said they looked for about a 1500 for the Honors College, but the essays and fit were super important for them. I’d expect the number to go down next year since they’re merging honors college and honors program so more overall spaces.

Thank you, that’s helpful!

Thanks so much! I do wonder what effect the merged honors program will have on admissions next cycle…

My son was accepted to Honors College with 1530 SAT, 4.0 GPA with rigorous curriculum and very strong extracurriculars.

Folks - i am trying to decide between
Texas A&M - TEAB Engineering program (in-state) vs.
Rutgers - Engineering School (Honors Program, 10K$ fin aid, out-state)

Any inputs will be appreciated
