This is how it shows in the mobile version of the portal. There’s a tile for “Honors at Rutgers.”
Congratulations on the Deans Scholarship; how much have they offered, if you don’t mind sharing?

Ok thanks, we are only accessing from her laptop. I don’t see that tab but will check again. It’s 8k per year.
Is anyone still waiting on merit from NB? My son got money at Camden, but nothing yet from NB. A student at his high school has already received merit, it is safe to assume he’s not going to get any?
Did your child get in the Honors College? There should be at least $5k in merit from that program. I heard other merit offers are rare.
Not that I know of lol! He didn’t want to do any extra essays, so if it required applying for honors, he did not.
He did get into honors at Camden, but nothing from NB.
I believe there was an extra essay for Honors College. It was not automatic consideration for NB.
No Merit:( He got 8k a year at UMD, I am going to see if they will match it. Maybe a long shot but…
Rutgers pretty much just gives merit for honors, one of my kids applied to 20 schools, got merit at 19, including UMD. We’re in NJ so not surprised.
I think Rutgers only gives merit scholarships to honors college students, but I’m not 100% sure.
My daughter was accepted to honors college with her RD application, but no word of any merit yet. She’s in-state, engineering. Between this, and the changes to the Honors College for next year (they’re changing the whole program with details “forthcoming”), they’re not making a very compelling case for why she should choose RU. Anyone know any more about either of these topics? (When and how merit info is released, and how the honors college is going to be set up next year)?
Merit is in the financial aid box of the MyRutgers dashboard where it says Award - change the year to 2026. https://my.rutgers.edu/
I’m waiting for that info too—how the honors college will be set up since they’ve combined the program and college. Are they going to accommodate all students in the Honors dorms on the college ave campus? Which is where my son wants to be or is that not guaranteed anymore? Lots of unknowns.
The orignal Honors College dorm is 5 Seminary Pl on College Ave campus. This is the new one with classrooms and AC. Unfortunately the combining of College and Programs means 5 Seminary definitely cannot house everyone. Hopefully you’ll get clarity soon!
EA acceptance to RBS, accepted to Honors College & $5k merit.
I spoke with the Dean at the honors college on Friday March 7 (I just called the listed number on the HC page and he happened to answer). We had a nice chat. He said further details would be coming next week (which at this point, is this past week) and I haven’t seen further details (maybe my daughter has, not sure). He was nice and answered my questions about lodging. Still a majority of students in the honors college will live in the nice newer honors college dorm on College Ave, but there will be maybe 150 overflow students due to the merging of honors program and honors college. They will be split between Busch and Cook/Douglass. He said they will take major into consideration; I can rest assured that my engineer daughter won’t be placed in Cook/Douglass which is farthest away from Busch, and they won’t put Mason Gross kids on Busch, but she won’t be placed on Busch just because she’s engineering. Most of the kids will still be on College Ave. That particular dorm was an appealing aspect of her consideration to apply for HC, so we’d be bummed if she ended up on Busch. Other than that, he said the spirit of the program will remain unchanged. Just the curricular details might be a little different. It does leave me feeling slightly unsettled, that the program she applied for will not be exactly the same as what will be offered when (if) she attends, but then I remember, nothing is guaranteed and there are probably tons of things that will be different in 2025-26 than they were in 2024-25 at every school in the country. Just wanted to share what I learned when I called.
Wow, you lucked out. That’s great info. Thank you! When I called the HC number, I talked to someone that really didn’t have any information and just said that the HC housing isn’t guaranteed.
One variable here is dining hall access. Unfortunately, College Ave is still without an actual dining hall while they construct a new one. The only options are the Atrium and Cafe West, neither of which accordng to D23 had healthy meal options. She’s on Busch this year and much happier with the dining hall being right there.
So College Ave = great dorm but no dining
Busch = older dorm but with dining
Honestly the atrium sounds like they have better food than the old Brower that everyone complained about.
Livi = ok dorm but great dining!
