OOS DD got email notification today about 15K Deans scholarship. Had very low expectations of any scholarships from Rutgers.
Found out about honors admission yesterday on the portal - no email notification yet.

Anyone know if the FAFSA is required to receive a scholarship offer from Rutgers? S25 was admitted to NB Honors College but we are not seeing any merit aid.
Donāt think you need FAFSa, which should be for need based. Anyone got scholarship from school of arts and science yet?

Some folks already saw the scholarship based on the thread above. Which school did you apply? ( i.e. School of engineering, business or arts and science)?
Both business and arts & science.
Seeing the unsubsidized loan for both, and honors scholarship only for business school.
My daughter got into the honor or school of arts and science, but no scholarship info so far.
Guess we have to wait until early March.

Where does the honors invite show up on the portal?
The business school AO informed me that most merit aid goes to honors applicants and not all honors students get merit aid. Some merit aid is also given to non-honor admitted students. All decision will be finalized by early march. Despite being a big school, once the admissions were finalized, the communication and streamlining of processes by Rutgers has left me impressed. In the business session that i attended, they were pretty open about positives and negatives and mentioned that Calculus courses at NB have a bad reputation among students and infact recommended completion of required courses in community college once you are enrolled if possible or find it difficult. if you have AP calculus then they will credit it. The student ambassadors at the session were open about positives and negatives. Some other sessions in other schools were all one sided talking up the programs!

I believe that all students in the honors college get merit, but not all students in honors programs get merit.

You might be correct. My kid is not in honors so I didnāt realize the difference.

Just FYI - Honors College merit starts at $5k this year (instead of $10k). I believe this is because theyāre combining Honors Program and Honors College into one single program.

Congrats, SB is a very good choice at Rutgers NB campus. I found the whole honor program vs honor college setup quite confusing. However, very glad that my daughter got into the honor college, still waiting for scholarship information for college of Arts and Science school.

Wow, Iām glad I got back on CC Forums after a bout of flu! No emails at all from Rutgers, other than admitted student days invites. My son had not checked the portal in a couple of weeks, after hearing that merit and HC decisions would come in early March.
But, buried in the portal was an Honors College acceptance letter and a Deanās Scholarship! That was a nice surprise! He thought Rutgersā honors program sounded amazing when he read about it. Even though heās very left-brained, he loves reading, history and music. Very appealing interdisciplinary offerings with HC.

Hello, congratulations! Can I ask where in the portal the HC letter was buried? My daughter just received a letter that she is awarded a Deans scholarship, and we are trying to figure out if this means she is also in the Honors College? She received it for Mason Gross BFA acting.
