No he wasn’t deferred.
Data point for those interested. S25 was deferred for RBS and just got in today via the portal. No email.

Deferred. He had gotten into SAS, but deferred for RBS.

Rutgers financial aid came out…son got a full ride RBS - NB

Received 10k in merit from NB…which feels ungenerous OOS.
Also got $5k-$10k more at other state schools OOS (UMass Amherst, Binghamton) and I have one of the highest GPAs/SAT from those who applied to Rutgers in my school’s known history.
Is it because the B-school is that competitive, or is this just a Rutgers NB thing?
On the plus side, I did get a lot from Camden.

How long before receiving your acceptance were you able to set up your Net ID?
Rutgers isn’t known for merit, in state get nothing unless in honors. My kids got $18,000 from UMASS and $0 from Rutgers. Actually one if mine applied to 20 schools and Rutgers is the only school who offered nothing (she’s at Clemson with $10,000 a year, also a college not known for merit, Bing offered her so much it would’ve been less than in state Rutgers). Camden and Newark are not as selective as New Brunswick and five more.

Did Rutgers send email that financial aid was ready? We didn’t get any email but asked my son to check his portal and it shows $0 aid.

Yes! Email was from Office of Financial Aid and entitled “Review Your Rutgers Financial Aid Award Information.” Said it was pleased to offer financial assistance, which indicated merit since my family doesn’t qualify for much need-based 
I would check spam/junk since the portal is really confusing. Good luck!

I just logged into the applicant portal hoping to see any merit aid after seeing these posts.
Not seeing anything regarding merit, but surprisingly saw the invite for Rutgers NB honors.
Where are you all seeing the merit aid? In the application portal or the myRutgers dashboard?
myRutgers dashboard … then “my financial aid” widget → “awards” panel → change year to “2026” on bottom left of the widget.

Same here. S25 received the invite for the NB honors college in the portal but no merit info is showing. Hopefully they are still processing it.
