Actually “in review”

Anyone know when decisions for NB will be out?

Early action say’s January 31
Regular decision end of February I think

Son got into Newark College of Arts and Sciences Nov 22nd. His apps to New Brunswick are “In Review”. Crossing fingers! We are out of state so merit would be a big factor. His stats are 3.9 UW, 4.4W with a host of high level activities. When does merit get announced? Good luck to all!

We are oos and my daughter also heard from Newark and was excepted into the school of arts and sciences. Obviously, as like all of you was waiting for New Brunswick. I think I read somewhere online that merit scholarships will be announced in March but I’m not 100% sure.

Good luck

NB is not known for merit, especially in state. I know many kids who’ve been accepted over the years (including my kids), very small handful got any merit (honors college acceptances do get merit, I think 500 total, very high stats).

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – A newly adopted, streamlined admissions process has been linked to a surge in undergraduate applications at Rutgers University – a school where the term RU Screw has been muttered in disgust by generations of students who’ve found themselves ensnared in bureaucratic red (scarlet?) tape.

Undergraduate applications to Rutgers-New Brunswick are up 52% compared to this time last year. Applications to the Newark campus are up 110% since last year, and applications to Rutgers-Camden are up 181%.

During his address at Thursday’s Board of Governors meeting, Rutgers President Jonathan Holloway traced the rise in applications to the university’s adoption of the common app. “

Thanks and good luck to your daughter as well!

That tracks! We won’t expect it, but it would be a big deciding factor. Good luck to all!

It really depends on the student’s stats. My in-state student was accepted there two years ago and was awarded $10K/year academic scholarship as well as acceptance into their honors college. Both were separate. We never received what the renumeration for the Honors College was other than being placed in a better than average residence hall.

Yes, all honors college acceptances come with merit, but most aren’t accepted into honors.

His scholarship was not tied to the honors college. It was separate.

So do we think decisions will come out Friday or will they go all the way to 1/31?

Who knows!!!

What we do know is that they had an immense uptick in applications - a 50% to 60% increase. (Scroll up ^^^). So, doing the math, we just have to expect it will take more time.
