Ryerson mechanical engineering

Hi, i am currently completing physics grade 12 and am hoping to attend Ryerson in 2010 as a full-time 1st year mech eng student. Although I have a passion for the career that requires a degree in mech and find functions, chem, calc, physics to be interesting, I am uncertain whether or not ill be able to attain a decent (B) overall gpa amongst the courses completed. I am told that engineering is extremely difficult, which is making me doubtful and pessimistic. I was hoping a mechanical engineering student can respond to this question outlining what it takes to succeed within this program. How much hours a week does this task require. Do you have to be “smarter” than the average high school grad. What type of strong points must you have in order to overcome the challenge?
Thank you very much for your time.
