S did very well on the M and CR sections (1540) of the SAT, but his writing score (610) incorrectly suggests that English is not his native language.

What should DS do to learn grammar AND prepare for the Nov SAT? Books to suggest?

I’ve heard Grammatix and Rocket Review are good for the Writing section.

610 does not suggest that English is not his native language.

CR indicates your “language” potential more than Writing. English was not my first language and I scored exceptionally well on M+W (1600), but CR was horrible on the other hand.

Sorry, it was a lame joke. Suffice it to say, that DS has strong math and reading skills. Because he has never paid attention to grammar, however, his W score is much lower than his M or CR. He finally sees a need to learn grammar and I am applauding and trying to encourage the effort.
