S was accepted, but is going elsewhere

Hi all,

As posted previously, my son was accepted at Vassar, which stunned us all because it was his reach. But after a lot of soul searching he has chosen to attend Boston University. He was smitten with its “Great Books” Core Curriculum option and its Honors Program. His being named a University Scholar with a merit award of 1/2 tuition was icing on the cake and the cherry on top is Boston itself, which he loves. As an overprotective mom I love that his older brother is right across the river at Tufts, but still, it feels very strange to have him turn down Vassar. But it’s his fit, right? He jokes that he wants a teeshirt that says:

Boston University*
*but accepted at Vassar too

Again, good luck all!! Vassar is an amazing school and you should all be proud to be members of the Class of 2011!
