I need some help figuring out a dilemma. I am trying to figure out if I need to take a Modern Business Mathematics course (MATH 24) in order to upper division transfer from a CCC into Sacramento State. I have finished all of my other requirements and I have a 3.3 GPA. I’ve taken a pre-calculus class in high school and got a C and I saw that it was an equivalent. Would I be able to get enrolled?
Have you checked assist.org? Have you spoken to your transfer advisor? Which CC are you attending?
According to the Sac Catalog, HS AP Math can be an equivalent of Math 24 plus area B4.
if the class is on the required list, then you probably need to take it. Its worth contacting their admissions to see if another class will meet the requirement.
@Gumbymom assist.org is no longer active. Whenever I try speaking to an advisor on the phone, they aren’t available so I’d probably have to go in and talk to one. I’m attending Sierra College. Also I didn’t take an AP math course in high school, just an honors pre-calculus class. So it most likely doesn’t count. I just don’t want to wait an entire semester to transfer for one class when Sac State offers the course at their campus.
