As if he didn’t have enough challenges, he was involved in a 4 car crash Saturday that killed a woman in Malibu. How awful

I hate the fact that they are making this about Jenner, and not about the poor person who was killed. I get it, he is a celebrity, but it is still sad.
It’s extremely sad for the poor woman who was killed and her family. I don’t know why the sympathy for Jenner. He was likely following too closely. The cause of the accident is still under investigation but a Prius ahead of the Lexus (the car the dead woman was driving) may have stopped on PCH to make an illegal U turn and that may have caused this chain reaction collision.
Paparazzi on the scene just so happened to snap photos of Jenner right as the accident happened. In one of the photos, it appears Jenner is holding a cigarette in his left hand. In another, it looks as though the deceased is holding a cell phone, so it may be possible that one or more of the drivers were distracted. Additionally, Jenner may have been distracted by all the paps in the vicinity, who knows.
I didn’t feel comfortable linking a photo of the deceased only moments before she loses her life, but they are easily accessible online.
Apparently one car was driving extremely slowly and the car of the deceased person slammed into it. Jenner’s car slammed into that one.
There are internet reports, for what they are worth, that Bruce has hired a prominent criminal defense attorney - as he could face charges of involuntary vehicular manslaughter.
This is from TMZ:
In another bizarre twist, the deceased is actually a Calabasas neighbor of both Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian.
I heard about this Sunday morning. Later that day I noticed the cover of people magazine and thought what terrible timing.
The LA Times is reporting that the deceased hasn’t had a driver’s license since 2007. The paper didn’t say why.
Any update on that, tatin?
Interesting update with a slightly different account of the sequence of events - and two of the four drivers involved lacked valid driver’s licenses.
This is a sidebar but I took a double take when I read that, as had just a few minutes ago read that CBS News correspondent Bob Simon was killed in a car accident in NYC tonight. Rear ended by a young driver in a Mercedes sending the Towncar he was riding in into the center divider on the FDR Drive. So sad. Sorry to digress,
Yeah, what’s up with that? Am I the only sucker who keeps schlepping my tired self out to the DPS office to stand in line, only to be told when I get to the front that they only accept cash or checks?
Yes. What are the odds? My guess is that if we had a stop and frisk for auto drivers you’d find that there is remarkable non-conformance with needing a license, as well as the requirement for insurance.
On another note, from Jenner’s perspective, this is why you need an umbrella policy.
Overall it sounds like a case of following too closely, and possibly distracted driving.
Yes.
There but for the grace of God go I.
More info that Bruce Jenner was at fault and hit both the Lexus in front of him (fatality) and the Prius in front of the Lexus.

And the LA Times states:
“Although victim Howe did not have a valid California driver’s license, the report shows she was licensed in Arizona, where she owned property.”
Jenner was towing a trailer with an ATV(I think) so that would have made his braking even more difficult.
Yes, many of the articles have commented on the weight and momentum of his SUV plus the trailer with the ATV on it. I really like Bruce Jenner and am sorry he is in this situation - but it seems increasingly clear that his inattentive driving has killed one person and badly injured several others - and I don’t want his celebrity stature to soften how he is treated or prosecuted.
From what I understand, when pulling a trailer, you need to maintain an even greater space between vehicles, and from the photos I’ve seen, it doesn’t seem he did that.
He seems like a good guy. This is probably something he’ll never get over, regardless of whether or not he is found legally culpable.
I was looking for a particular store one day and almost hit a person walking in front of me. I almost had a heart attack.
