Sad News- Harry Potter fans.

Another sad Colonel Brandon fan.

“Yippee ki-yay, ____ ____”!

Sigh.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Truly, Madly, Deeply. I’ll have to remedy that.

Didn’t mean for that Twitter post to show up here! I thought it would just be a link! Sorry!

This has been a crushing week.

I adored Alan Rickman. He knew when to be subtle and when to chew every last bit of scenery possible. He was such a major part of some of my favorite movies, Dogma, Galaxy Quest, Harry Potter, Sense and Sensibility. Sigh.

A wonderful actor, he definitely will be remembered.

His first screen role was as Tybalt in a 1978 BBC production. so young, and in tights: http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/B3ee9Kd4NNY

I am really saddened by his death.

Such sad news… I have always loved Alan Rickman… from Sense & Sensibility to Harry Potter and so many other roles to seeing him on Broadway a few years ago in Seminar… what a huge loss. What a week between losing him and David Bowie, both the same age. I have David Bowie’s songs in my brain the whole week.

I’m devestated. I’m a die hard Harry Potter fan and this just shocked me. So gutted that I never got to meet him. All morning I’ve been getting condolences on my fb because everyone thought the news would be especially sad to me. They were right. I can’t even say how sad I am right now. I owe him and Jo Rowling a large part of my childhood. Thank you, Alan Rickman, for bringing us muggles the magic of Potions and your enchanting voice. You will not be forgotten #R.I.P

Sad news for anyone who loves good acting. One of my favorite Rickman movies was Galaxy Quest.

Alan Rickman was far and away Mr R’s favorite actor. He was the actor Mr R aspired to be just like.

I’m a die-hard Harry Potter nerd and I despised and loved movie Snape because of the way that Rickman was able to capture so many of Snape’s intricacies.

Needless to say, this has been a major blow in the Romani household. :frowning:

He was beyond amazing in Private Lives on Broadway. That voice.

Love Actually is one of my favorite movies and his was one of the saddest parts. I see this movie probably twice a year at least. I’ve never seen Harry Potter but I’m really sad.

Who else could take the line “Turn to page 394” and make it a major cinematic moment?

That voice:

Jimmy Fallon and Benedict Cumberbatch (sounds like a name out of HP) having a “Rickman-off” (taking turns doing AR imitations.)

I also saw Alan Rickman (with Lindsay Duncan) in Private Lives on Broadway and it was one of the best theater experiences of my life. RIP Mr. Rickman, you were a real gift to audiences everywhere.

My daughter and I watched Galaxy Quest onTuesday night.

Another role of his, though the movie was a piece of crap IMO, he was the voice of Marvin the Depressed Android in the “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” movie,he nailed it for me (to the point that when I reread the books, I hear Rickman’s voice). My fondest role of his was in Galaxy Quest, especially the line with “There were five curtain calls. I was an actor once, damn it. Now look at me. Look at me! I won’t go out there and say that stupid line one more time”

I loved him in Bottle Shock playing the snobbish British wine shop owner Steven Supprier.

I was chatting over skype with my D yesterday about A. Rickmans voice. She pointed out that even his whispers had resonance. Brrrrooooding and bleeeeeding at its best. (be sure to roll those r’s) sigh
