Which of the two, if you were attending a sub-par business school would be a better path to follow?

Any.
Most people will say Accounting, however you should check to see if it is AACSB accredited and typically Accounting is known as the “weed-out” major at sub-par business schools. However you can get a good job (possibly big 4) if you make it through with a great gpa (3.5+)
With Finance at sub-par schools, you can get non-investment banking finance jobs in financial planning, advising, analysis, commercial banking, etc.

Take this into consideration and see which applies to your school. My school is sub-par, however I got finance internships yet I am still waiting till next year to do an accounting internship.

Accounting…

And here we go again.

Go with the business major you like best. If you are any good you will be able to do well.

Accounting by a long shot.

accounting because you can go into several fields with an accounting degree. as most people would put it “accounting is the language of business.”

If the school is out of the top 30-50 I’d say accting too. What is sub-par?
