<p>How short do you guys think a commonapp essay can be without raising adcoms’ eyebrows? Is ~400 sufficient, provided that I communicate everything that I need to?</p>
<p>I already finished one commonapp essay (~700 words) but after getting deferred from Cornell, I decided to start fresh with a more personal essay.</p>

<p>Although I felt like trashing my essay so I had a bunch of CCers read it and tell me to keep it.</p>
<p>I’d say if it’s 450 it should be okay. I mean, a 500 word essay seems too short for me even though that’s what it asks for.</p>
<p>450-550 words would be the shortest I would write a essay.</p>
