What are your guys opinions on the safety of joining online class groups that are not ran by the professor? This is my first semester at this university and I noticed that for a few classes I was invited to some site called “Study Room.” I don’t think it is ran by the professor and it appears that it is a way for students to communicate with each other and help each other out. However, is stuff like this dangerous? For example, I am afraid of using the site and then one random classmate gives out answers on there and then the professor finds out and punishes all individuals affiliated with that site.

LOL. I’ve probably been in a facebook group for half the classes I ever took at UT, but I have no clue what this “study room” site is.
I think you have a valid concern.
I would go ahead and join…but if you thought there was cheating then drop out of the group and report in accordance to your honor code.
