Safety on the SAT scale.

I’ve been looking at Franklin and Marshall and their SAT distribution goes as follows, according to collegeboard.com

Middle 50%
SAT Critical Reading: 580 - 670
SAT Math: 600 - 690

They Do not consider the writing portion.

Obviously there are tons of things that go into college admission, but narrowed down, what do you feel would be a “safe” SAT score to have within these ranges.

The school is also SAT optional; do you think it would be beneficial to take advantage of that opportunity or submit my 1250/1600 SAT score.

Thanks.

A safe score would be about 720 CR and 740 Math.

I’m applying to F&M myself using my SAT score. I had a similar score yours but I was recently reading about SAT Optional. The Times stated that if you don’t have much of a shot, you should omit your SAT. Similarly, many students with insanely high SATs sometimes choose to omit their SAT because of the fact that they want to be looked as an equal and don’t want to look pretentious.

I think you’ll be fine! Good luck at F&M!
