Saint Louis University Madrid

Hi! I am an American student who wants to go to a European university. One of my top contenders is University of Saint Louis Madrid. I would love to hear from people who have gone there and pros and cons. I am not fluent in Spanish what so ever so I need a school that teaches the undergrad course in English. I want to major in Political Science or something similar. Spain is my first choice for country but I am open to most places in Europe. So please let me know if any other colleges would be a better fit!

S21 was accepted with generous merit that would have transferred over to main campus if he changed campuses. They have about 800 students but not all are there for the full 4 years. Many ( if I remember close to half, so double check) come over from main campus for a semester or two. Housing is not on campus as well.

S21 also was accepted to UCD, University college Dublin, which has a large international student population.

Also in Ireland Daughter just got back from a faculty led ( University of Florida) study abroad last semester at Maynooth University about 30 minutes by train to Dublin, and loved it.

S21 decided on FSU, Florida State University, which has a first year abroad program.

He studied his freshman year in Florence, Italy and then moved to Valencia Spain for the summer semester. FSU has study centers in Florence, Valencia, London and Panama City Panama. He is now a Senior at the Main campus in Tallahassee ( Florida Capital) studying Political Science.
He decided being able to study abroad for 3 full semesters and still get a degree from an American University was best for Him.

Here are some programs we looked at all taught in English

First Year in Rome
Rome Start: Loyola University Chicago.

Japan

Canada

Daughter just got back from here

FSU as recently as last year offers in-state tuition to OOS if you attend the first year abroad. Was definitely a consideration for mine!

This is incredibly helpful, thank you! Do you happen to know what IE University’s acceptance rate is?

It is pretty high if you go through all the steps
We ultimately did not apply, Son liked SLU Madrid better
Between the two he liked having the degree from an American University and if he didn’t want to stay in Spain all four years he had the option to transfer back to St, Louis and complete his degree on the main campus and the scholarship would transfer ie. vice president scholarship
