Hi!

I’m in the midst of applying to Salem Academy. It’s not one of the highest ranking schools but I still have a few worries.

I’m a ninth grader.
I already have 3 math credits. (I took algebra I in 7th and geometry in 8th. My third will be from Algebra II, this year.)

I am very athletic. I play lacrosse, run cross country, track and play field hockey.

I volunteer often at the horse rescue in my town. I’d estimate at about 10 hours a week.

I’m taking all honors classes this year. Including a 11th grade math class. (Algebra II)

But, my grades this year haven’t been that spectacular. I’ve experienced some minor difficulty with time management, for the first time in my life. I’d shrug it off as the transitioning into high school.

I’m in ALL honors classes.

My grades:

Algebra II: B
Honors World History: B+
Honors English: C
(here goes) Honors Biology: D
French: B
Dance: B

I’m taking the SSAT April 21st. Do you guys think that it all comes down to that?

Prior to this year, I’ve been an all around A student… with rare Bs now and then.

Not to take a weak shot, but im also a minority at a predominantly white school. I’m aware that that slightly raises my chances.

But, overall… what do you think of my chances of getting into Salem Academy of Winston Salem?
