Can anyone tell me the benefits/negatives of having a mixed gender versus a same gender corridor? Will this affect my dorm placement in any way? For those of you who don’t know, umich has gendered bathrooms regardless of corridor arrangement. Thank you
I guess a benefit is having someone from the opposite sex living next to you…You probably already know this, but you need to be part of an MLC to live in a mixed gender corridor.
You don’t have to be in an MLC to be placed in a mixed gender corridor

I lived in a mixed gender corridor my freshman year and I loved it. I don’t really see any arguments for why one is necessarily better than the other. In my opinion, it’s honestly nothing more than a matter of preference.
