Same score twice...Verify?

Hello, I took the New SAT in May and October and got the exact same score twice. I thought I would get at least a 1250 and was surprised to find out I got an 1180 on both since I studied for more than 40 hours(2-3 reading passages every day, lots of math questions). Most of my friends got no lower than a 1280. Should I retake the test in December or should I verify my scores? Thanks in advance.

do you know why you got the 1180? Did you do any practice tests and know your weaknesses?

I thought I got every question correct because I was able to finish every section before time ended. My weaknesses are Geometry and Table Data according to Khan Academy.

You should order a score report from CB. Methinks it costs some $18. Don’t know if you can still place the order after your score’s out, but I see no reason you wouldn’t be able to.

Are you junior or senior? If it were me, I will retake in December…Given the score, I think you may need to do a lot of prep.

I’m a senior. Yeah, I’m gonna use prepscholar since its my only option but i spent 40 hours on it and it didnt help much. Any suggestions on what else I could do?

Just plugging away for hours without a goal is not going to help your scores. You need to identify what it is you got wrong and learn the content. Just taking hours and hours of practice tests without a direction is unlikely to help your scores. I agree with the suggestion in post number 3. Order a score report, figure out what it is that needs to be corrected and correct those specific things.

If you do those things and retest you have a good chance of increasing your score. If you do the same old thing you have been doing you are likely to get the same result.

use a prep book and study a few hours every day. it’s the only real way to increase your score.

You should definitely give it a try in December since you only took it twice
